On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the consecutive general meeting of the Network of Chambers of Crafts and Crafts of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (R-CMA UEMOA) took place in Ouagadougou.

During the meeting on 31 January, according to the president of the Burkina Faso Chamber of Crafts and Crafts, Germaine Compaoré, the adoption of the draft texts, the establishment of the various bodies and the develop a roadmap for the functioning of the network. According to the president, the vision of this initiative is “to network the craft chambers of UEMOA and is innovative and marks our growing determination to strengthen the priority given to the craft sector.”

According to the Minister in charge of Crafts, this meeting is in line with UEMOA's community policy on handicrafts. For him, the R-CMA/UEMOA should serve as a framework for strengthening synergies and sharing best practices between the chambers of trades in the UEMOA area.
