The Superior Council of the Judiciary and the National Financial Intelligence Authority organized a training workshop on “The fight against money laundering, basic techniques and tools” on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. This workshop is organized in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Morocco. It was an opportunity for partners to discuss best practices and strategies in this area.

During the training, Morocco explained that the stakes are high. Over two days, from 4 to 5 January, the partners addressed the theme “the fight against money laundering, basic techniques and tools”, through numerous axes”. Indeed, the Consul General of the United States (Casablanca), Lawrence Randolph stressed the importance of the fight against money laundering. With regard to Judge Imane El Malki, she welcomed the actions undertaken to strengthen the capacities of judges in this area. She did not forget to mention the Kingdom's ambitions in this area, particularly at the judicial level, highlighting the experiences accumulated.

The workshop also provided an opportunity to focus at length on Moroccan law and in particular the recent amendments adopted in June 2021. Similarly, presentations were presented on the American approach to financial investigations and techniques for developing money laundering investigations in order to explore how these can be applied in Morocco.
