Mohamed G., holder of a Bac+3 degree in computer science, of dual French and Tunisian nationality, was prosecuted for organizing drug trafficking on the Darkweb between 2020 and 2022. This time, he was found guilty of money laundering and sentenced to two years in prison on Monday, January 9, 2023 in Rennes.

The 29-year-old IT security specialist employee, married and father of a baby born in December, was prosecuted for “money laundering” and “drug trafficking” offences committed on the “dark web”, the illicit trafficking network. He admitted the facts of “money laundering but not the drug trafficking part” before the specialized interregional jurisdiction (JIRS) in Rennes. He was sentenced to two years in prison with continued detention. He was also sentenced to 119,000 euros in customs fines and ordered the confiscation of 431,400 euros in cryptocurrency seized by investigators, 23,000 euros in bank assets and a studio purchased in Dubai partly with cryptocurrencies. Noted that he was sentenced in Angers in March 2020 for bank card fraud.
