Held under the 26 to 27 January 2023, the sub-regional symposium on water companies brought together the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (Camwater), with the collaboration and participation of its partners. The political capital of Cameroon has hosted a discussion on the control of losses and fraud, which is a crusade against the phenomenon of unbilled water.

“Financial viability of water companies in Africa: controlling commercial losses and drinking system fraud”. This was the theme on which the discussions focused for two days. On the occasion, Blaise Moussa, CEO of Camwater stressed the importance of the work in Yaoundé. Noted that Camwater is the Cameroonian government company for the production and distribution of drinking water.

According to the director, the Yaoundé conference is more than a conference “but it's more of a workshop. It is a meeting of giving and receiving. We are talking about sectorization. You have to cut out the zones. We need to master and digitize them to have technical centers to control production units and networks that will become smart, smart meters for better billing.”
