On Friday, January 20, 2023, the Minister in charge of the Economy, Aboubacar Nacanabo, indicated that the Burkinabe government has already mobilized more than 320 million FCFA through the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP), as part of defense and reconquest of the national territory.

The Minister of Economy, Finance and Foresight, Aboubacar Nacanabo said that “to date, the resources collected, through the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) by the committee set up by the Presidency of the Republic ; to 320 million 749 thousand 510 CFA francs.” According to him, the resources of the FSP are intended to finance the expenses of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), in particular salaries, equipment expenses and fuel.

According to Nacanabo, the FSP has a renewable duration of one year. Its main objective is to support efforts to defend and secure the national territory.
