The Higher Authority for State Control and the Fight against Corruption has announced that the fictitious missions identified in the administration constitute forms of embezzlement of public funds. On this part, it promises to continue the fight against this type of activity.

The Comptroller General of State, Philippe Néri Kouthon Nion indicated in an interview that “there are missions that are carried out and which turn out to be fictitious missions. Practically, a mission order can be issued, checked on departure and return without the mission being carried out. [...] This is another form of embezzlement of public funds.” Indeed, according to the head of the Higher Authority for State Control and Combating Corruption (ASCE-LC), an investigation carried out by his institution confirmed these facts.

For the State Comptroller General, there are vehicles that are not in good standing that have been seized and impounded at the ASCE-LC level. According to him, its structure holds copies of mission orders that show irregularities.
