In an investigation published on May 29, Disclose reports on a tax evasion of more than 800 million euros operated by General Electric Energy Products France (GEEPF).

The investigation is based on independent audit reports and several internal accounting documents of the group. Thus, the American multinational with a turnover of 80 billion euros has set up an opaque financial arrangement between its French branch, General Electric Energy Products France, and subsidiaries domiciled in Switzerland and in the American state of Delaware. The objective: to escape the tax authorities by taking out of France several hundred million euros of profits linked to the sale of gas turbines produced in Belfort. According to estimates, more than 800 million euros have disappeared from the coffers of GEEPF between 2015 and 2020. This means a loss of earnings for the public accounts of 150 to 300 million euros.
