The President of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye spoke with several of his country's partners during the Dakar 2 summit. This summit was a boon for Burundi, which took advantage of this meeting between governments, private sector actors and multinational organizations to attract new investments. According to President Evariste Ndayishimiye, the financial support promised by the AfDB will enable it to finance a government development program.

The establishment of two agropoles in Cibitoke and Karusi provinces, and road and railway construction projects Uvinza, Gitega, Bujumbura and Kindu, is the program that the bank intends to finance. The vision of this financing is to support youth and women's banks, with a view to promoting their economic empowerment, and to address the challenges related to climate change and the global shortage of fertilizers.
