He thus declared that its amount represents an increase of 1.32 trillion dollars compared to the executive's initial proposal. The 2023 budget amounts to 21.83 trillion naira.

The Head of State decided to sign the 2023 Appropriation Bill as adopted by the National Assembly. The signature will allow the implementation of the project to begin without delay. Also, the 2022 Supplementary Appropriation Bill was also signed. President Buhari thanked the National Assembly for approving the request to extend its validity date until 31 March 2023. The ministers of Finance, Budget and National Planning will provide details on the approved budget and the 2022 Finance Act later.

President Buhari called on state-owned companies to step up their revenue mobilization efforts, including by ensuring that all taxable organizations and individuals pay the taxes due, with the aim of achieving the objectives set to comply with the new budget.
