On Monday, December 19, 2022, the signing of the framework agreement relating to the Building Resilient and Inclusive Cities Programme took place at the conference room of the Ministry of Living Environment and Sustainable Development (MCVDD).

The municipalities of Allada, Aplahoué, Dassa-Zoumé, Djougou, Kandi, Lokossa and Pobè will soon see the level of services raised in an inclusive approach and their resilience to climate change strengthened. This is through the Building Resilient and Inclusive Cities (BRIC) program, which was financed by the national budget to the tune of 65 billion CFA and the World Bank to the tune of 130 billion dollars, or a total of 300 million dollars (195 billion FCFA).

According to the Minister for Living Environment and Sustainable Development, through this program, the government of President Patrice Talon aims to make Beninese cities drivers of growth and sustainable urban development.
