On Monday 30 January 2023, the four financing instruments signed by the State of Cameroon and the French Development Agency (AFD) in the presence of the European Union (EU) are essentially dedicated to promoting the agricultural sector. It was to support the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2030 (SND30). The total amount of 34 billion CFA francs (approximately 56 million dollars) paid is intended to modernize the facilities of the Cotton Development Company (Sodecoton) through the construction of a new ginning plant near Garoua with a capacity of 50,000 tons of cotton seeds.
