Through these projects, the State reaffirms its commitment to supporting productive investment, to offering a attractive and secure environment for businesses, and to build an economy more sovereign, more competitive and more inclusive, in accordance with guidelines of the Senegal 2050 National Transformation Agenda.
The industrial zone of Bargny-Sendou should accommodate 400 to 450 industrial units, generating between 22,000 and 24,000 jobs, skilled and unskilled. The investment global is estimated at more than 83 billion CFA francs, mobilized by the Group Senegindia SA.

He emphasized that the inaugurated industrial unit goes well beyond a simple tool for production, embodying a new stage in the structural transformation of the Senegalese economy.
For the President, this modern and integrated refinery illustrates the central place given to industrialization, the creation of local added value and control production lines. He welcomed the scale of the investment, the quality of the infrastructures built and the technological level achieved. “This refinery vividly demonstrates that the private sector has the ability to carry out structuring projects that create sustainable jobs and wealth,” he added.
The Head of State has
also recalled that Senegal's strong dependence on oil imports
food represents a major challenge, weighing on the trade balance and
weakening the country's food sovereignty. “Our ambition is clear: to produce
more locally, process on site and consume what we produce
”, he said, calling for a break with the old model based on
the export of raw materials and the import of processed products,
in favor of a new dynamic focused on local transformation,
innovation and competitiveness.
