The government Egyptian continues the accelerated development of New Alamein, which has become one of major tourist centers on the Mediterranean coast. The Council of Ministers approved, on Wednesday 28 January, the construction of a new zone of investments in this city located in the governorate of Matrouh, in north of the country, according to an official statement.

The project focuses on an area of approximately 13.13 Feddans, located to the south of the city, proximity to the desert and existing oil fields. This land will be dedicated to the establishment of a commercial, administrative and hotel complex, sports, logistics and entertainment. Its realization will be entrusted to a specialized company, as part of an investment model aimed at strengthen the economic and tourist attractiveness of the area.

New window of urban development in Egypt, Al-Alamein has been designated “Arab Capital of resorts 2025” by the Arab Tourism Organization of the League of Arab states. Spanning 48,000 feddans and supported by over 10 billion of investment dollars, the city aims to be among the ten first tourist destinations in Africa by 2030.
