At the closing ceremony of the first African Prosperity Dialogue, Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Addo called for urgent and appropriate measures to realize the objectives of the Zone of Initiative African continental free trade (AfCFTA).

The Ghanaian president announced that the collective aspiration of African countries to transform the continent that gave rise to this continental free trade initiative, whose aim is to bring economic security and prosperity Eacute; to all Africans. Akufo-Addo said they should “realize that there is an urgent need to work together to ensure the economic security and prosperity of our peoples.”

For him, there was still a lot to do to reap the benefits of the ZLECA. Thus, he called for bold measures to boost intra-African trade. According to the Ghanaian president, “political leaders, business leaders and other strategic actors in Africa must take advantage of the opportunities offered by the CFTA to boost intra-African trade, improve the continent's productive capacity and strengthen its resilience to external shocks.”
