Air France-KLM has signed a memorandum of understanding with TotalEnergies that will supply a total of 800,000 tons of this fuel produced in France starting in 2023 over ten years. It is increasing its supply of sustainable fuels for the next ten years. This announcement was made public on Monday, December 5, 2022 by Total Energies.

By the end of October, Air France-KLM had already signed two major contracts with the Finnish company Neste and the American company DG Fuel to supply a total of 1.6 million tons of sustainable fuel. Indeed, as TotalEnergies is the leader in the supply of aerial fuel in France, it will produce this fuel in its biorefineries, which will be used in particular for flights departing from France and the Netherlands.

The oil firm aims to produce 1.5 million tons of this fuel by 2030. According to Benjamin Smith, CEO of Air France-KLM, “this memorandum of understanding signed with TotalEnergies is a new stone in favour of the emergence of a French industry able to meet the needs of airlines, an essential step in successfully decarbonizing our business.”
