The document published by the BCEAO mentions that the September 2022 data from the survey of business leaders show an improvement in activity in the buildings and public works (BTP) sector, but it is slowing down compared to last month's situation.

Indeed, after 0.8 points last month, the difference between the activity index in the sector and the activity index in BTP compared to the long-term average (100) remained positive. It comes out at +0.7 points. An improvement in construction activity was noted by country. We note, in Senegal (+13.8 points), Benin (+4.9 points), Togo (+2.6 points), Guinea-Bissau (+1.2 points) and Niger (+0.7 points). On the other hand, a fall in activity was observed in Burkina (-4.3 points), Mali (-3.0 points) and Côte d'Ivoire (-1.9 points).
