The heads of the Decentralized Financial Systems (SFD), partners of the FNM from the 4 departments of Northern Benin, were convened by Véronique TOGNIFODÉ, Minister of Social Affairs and Microfinance in Natitingou, on Thursday, December 15 December 2022. She had reported complaints from fellow citizens and asked them to review their system to comply with the Government's social vision.

Complaints relating to the slowness in the granting of credit and sometimes to cases of discrimination continue to be registered despite the relaxation measures put in place by the Government of Benin to facilitate access to Alafia microcredit populations. In addition to complaints from women, statistics recorded at the level of the National Microfinance Fund show that in some localities, disbursement rates, although significant, do not correspond to the State's forecasts in terms of the needs of the target population.

The Minister expressed her dissatisfaction with the low disbursement rates in these 4 departments, while the Alafia 2 product of 100,000 francs has been made available by the Government for 6 months. “By setting up Alafia microcredit, the Government is implementing a strategy to reduce the poverty rate in Benin that you do not seem to want to support... ” she complains.

She also recalled that Alafia microcredit is intended for people who meet the conditions, of course, but without discrimination, regardless of gender or ethnicity. politique beneficiaries. She therefore asked all SFD partners of the FNM to improve their deployment mechanism in all localities.
