La Banque mondiale a informée sur son site web le mardi 20 décembre 2022 avoir signé en collaboration l' European Union (EU) an agreement to implement a program of support for the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Djibouti.

"Serif"">The Bm announced that measures initiated by the Djiboutian authorities reduced the poverty rate by 1.8 percentage points between 2020 and 2021. Indeed, several partners also contribute to strengthening the capacity of MSMEs, providers of employment and income. Funded to the tune of more than $4.1 million by the EU, this program will boost the business development project of MSMEs in the country through access to digitization, improved accounting practices, credit applications, business plans, and legal and marketing strategies. Also, it will serve to set up “a virtual “one-stop shop” where MSMEs can go to one place to obtain permits and other services.”

Pour Marina Wes, directrice pays de la Banque mondiale For Djibouti announced that “the project will promote the growth of MSMEs in Djibouti, by supporting technology adoption and business development. This new injection of funds will also help to strengthen the capacity of MSMEs in Djibouti, which are an important driver of employment and income.”
