Airline ticket costs this Christmas season are increasing at an unprecedented price. A kind of killing on the part of the national airlines.

For Saturday, December 24, the cost of a one-way economy class ticket on an Air Peace flight at 7 am from Lagos to Owerri increased to 120,000 N, while a one-way flight at 6:50am to Enugu from Lagos was sold for the same amount on an economy class ticket. Also, for Saturday, December 24, the cost of a one-way ticket from Lagos to Anambra was 100,000 N on an Air Peace flight, while the same class of ticket cost 100,000 N to Asaba.

Lagos to Enugu costs 90,000 N for economy class on Dana Air while a one-way ticket in the same class of tickets for December 24 from Lagos to Owerri costs 85,000 N. The flight Arik Air to Owerri on Sunday, December 25, costs 95,500 N, while Green Africa tickets cost 69,500 N from Lagos to Enugu for Saturday, December 24.

Dana Airline spokesperson Kingsley Ezenwa believes that passenger traffic had increased significantly despite the high cost of tickets, with most flights fully booked.
