A press release from the Congolese Ministry of Finance announced that indexed treasury bills of 150 billion Congolese francs representing nearly 70,674,441 USD have been put up for auction by the R&D government Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The press release mentions that “economic operators or individuals interested in buying these three-month financial securities are required to file their subscription no later than Tuesday, January 3 before 11:00am at the Central Bank of Congo. The payment date is scheduled for Friday, January 6, 2023 and the reimbursement for Friday, July 5, 2024.” The government collects 100 billion CFs of Treasury Bills issued.

The same press release also notes that the Treasury has received 100 billion Congolese francs in Treasury Bonds put up for auction on Tuesday, December 29, by the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The same source states that “the results of the one-year and six-month batch with four tenderers served brought 100,000,000,000 CFs (100 billion Congolese francs) to the Treasury, i.e. a coverage rate of the amount put up for auction of 150% at the accepted limit rate of 100% and a weighted average rate of 100%, with the percentage awarded at the accepted limit rate by 100%.”
