The UEMOA interbank market recorded a drop in trading volume during the month of November 2022 according to the Monthly Bulletin of Statistics of la Bceao . The average weekly trading volume fell from 672.4 billion in October 2022 to 628.9 billion in November 2022, a fall of 6.5% across all maturities combined

According to the Bceao, “the weighted average rate was 3.19% in November 2022 compared to 3.08% the previous month. On the one-week market, the average trading volume fell by 11.6% during the month under review to 362.2 billion. The average interest rate on this market increased by 10 basis points, from 2.91% in October 2022 to 3.01% in November 2022.” According to the institution, the business climate indicator remained above its long-term trend, standing at 101.5, almost stable compared to its level of the previous month during the month of November 2022.
