On Friday, January 6, 2023, the State of Senegal obtained the sum of 55 billion FCFA from the WAEMU financial market following a simultaneous issue of adjudication 91-day, 364-day Treasury Equivalent Bonds (BAT) and 3-year Treasury Recovery Bonds (OAT). It was in order to finance projects included in its budget.

50 billion FCFA had been set to adjudication by Treasury officials. The total amount of submissions is 65.652 billion CFA francs, giving a coverage rate of adjudication 131.31% of the amount submitted. The rejected submissions amount to 10.652 billion FCFA and the successful one to 55 billion FCFA. In addition, investors with successful bids will end up with a weighted average return of 3.43% for 91-day BATs and 3.58% for 364-day BATs and 5.45% for bonds.

On the other hand, vouchers issued are redeemable on the first business day following the due date of January 7, 2024 for 12-month vouchers and April 9, 2023 for 91-day BATs. Interest is payable in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the vouchers.
