A flamboyant factory was recently inaugurated by the Head of State of Mauritania, Mohamed Cheikh Ould Ghazouani in the economic capital of Mauritania, Nouadhibou. In this factory called 3M Seafood, the country is once again producing canned sardines.

Tin cans made in Mauritania are back on the local market thanks to the 3M Seafood complex located in Nouadhibou, the economic capital. It is the fruit of the Abass group. It can produce up to 100,000 cans per day. Indeed, Moulay Idriss Abass, the young promoter of this project, has invested 570 million ouguiyas in this complex, or about 15 million US dollars. It has thus created 300 direct employment opportunities. The aim of this plant is to enable, above all, the valuation of fishery products and a significant amount of hard currency to be retained.

In addition, the 3M Seafood complex includes a freezer unit with a capacity of 110 tons per day and another storage unit with a capacity of 4000 tons. It also has coastlines that are known to be among the most fishy in the world, Mauritania exports about 1,200,000 tons of fish every year.
