An international symposium took place on Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Abidjan on the UEMOA regional financial market. Morocco was on the occasion.

The theme of the conference is “the regional financial market of the” West African Monetary Union (UMOA), 25 years later...”. It is under the high patronage of Niger's President Mohamed Bazoum and his Ivorian counterpart, Alassane Ouattara. The participants had to discuss its evolution with the various players in the market, and to identify development prospects in order to contribute to the financing of the Union's economies.

Formerly known as Regional Public Savings Council and of the markets finances (CREPMF), the Financial Markets Authority of the West African Monetary Union (AMF-UMOA) declined its balance sheet and future prospects on the occasion. According to the President of the AMF-UMOA, Badanam Patoki, significant progress has been made, in particular the effectiveness of the resident presidency, the progressive financial autonomy of the Body, whose functioning was strongly supported by grants from member States, and the establishment of the regulatory framework of the Third Compartment dedicated to businesses.
