Over the recent period, money market conditions have remained favorable according to the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO).

Following the last decision of the Monetary Policy Committee in December 2022, the central bank indicated that the minimum rate for submitting liquidity injection tenders and the marginal rate for short-term lending have increased from 2, 50% and 4.50% to 2.75% and 4.75% respectively, since December 16, 2022. According to the bank, continuing the full allocation procedure, banks' requests on refinancing counters la Bceao have been served at the minimum rate of 2.75% since that date.

With regard to the intermediate market, the BCEAO notes that the average interest rate weighted to maturity at one week has emerged & agrave; 3.44% in December 2022, an increase of 39 basis points (Bdb) compared to its November 2022 level (3.05%) and 85.0 Bdb since 13 June 2022 (2.59%). A rate that stood at 2.46% in December 2021.
