The Ministry of Finance and Budget of Senegal announced on Friday, March 31, that the country's government has raised, with “great success”, nearly 202 billion CFA francs (334 million dollars) on the financial market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA)

In a press release, the Senegalese Ministry of Finance and Budget announced that “the operation, which covers maturity periods of 5.7 and 10 years, was launched on March 6, 2023 for an amount of 120 billion CFA francs. This objective was subsequently revised to 200 billion CFA francs. Ultimately, the operation was oversubscribed and closed at 201,860 million CFA francs.” According to the press release, such “results attest to the repeated confidence of investors in the quality of the signature of the State of Senegal, thanks to its institutional stability and the resilience of its macro-budgetary framework.”
