The Director General of the National Road Safety Agency (ANASER) Cheikhou Oumar Gaye participated in a regional development committee dedicated to raising awareness on road safety at Thi& egrave; s. He announced last Tuesday 11 that an ad hoc committee bringing together representatives of all categories of the road transport sector will be set up in Thiès and placed under the supervision of the governor with a view to drawing up a local plan to combat road insecurity.

The regional development committee dedicated to raising awareness on road safety is a meeting that is part of the dissemination of ANASER. According to Gaye, an ad hoc committee will be set up in Thiès to serve as an armed arm of ANASER as part of the development of a local plan to combat road safety. In addition, the director general of ANASER indicated that the recommendations of the actors will be incorporated into the National Strategy to Combat Road Insecurity.

As a reminder, ANASER is a public agency under the supervision of the Ministry in charge of Land Transport that started its activities in June 2022. This agency is controlled by a supervisory board, composed of nine members from various sectors, and is under the authority of a High Council for Road Safety, housed at the Presidency of the Republic.
