On Friday, May 12, 2023, the Senegalese State signed a guarantee agreement with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). It was during the IDB's annual general meeting at

, "Serif"">Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation Oulimata SARR signed the agreement in the presence of a strong Senegalese delegation including Néné Fatoumata Tall, National Coordinator of the Program for the Development of Islamic Microfinance in SENEGAL (PROMISE). Through this agreement, microfinance institutions in Senegal will benefit from a loan guarantee granted by the IDB. The agreement is a demonstration of the Senegalese government's desire to promote the development of Islamic microfinance in the

country.
