The dollar fell and lost about 0.1% to 140.50 yen, after briefly touching a six-month high of 140.91 yen during trade with Asia. The Dollar Index, which measures the value of the U.S. unit against a basket of other major currencies, was also a bit weaker around 104.23 but not far from last week's two-month peaks

The Australian dollar rose by 0.25% to $0.6535, while the kiwi rose by 0.26% to $0.6063. However, the dollar held steady against the other major currencies, with the euro losing 0.1% to $1.0722, while the pound sterling weakened slightly
