In a resilient economic climate, characterised by a fall in inflation and the announcement by the BCEAO to maintain its key interest rates, three EU member states successfully closed the exit last week. These are Burkina Faso, Niger and Senegal, which attract more than 116 billion FCFA to the public securities market

.

Three sovereign issues enabled Burkina Faso, Niger and Senegal to jointly raise 116.93 billion FCFA, thus exceeding the initial target of 110 billion FCFA, between 7 and 9 June on the Public Securities Market (MTP) through a WAEMU auction. This amount breaks down respectively into 28.92 billion for Burkina Faso, 33 billion for Niger and 55 billion for Senegal

.

In detail, Burkina Faso led the way on June 7 with an issue of 30 billion FCFA over 364-day, 3-year and 5-year maturities. 101.76% of the operation was covered thanks to the commitment of 13 Union investors and strong demand from investors resident in Burkina

.

Niger followed up on June 8 with an issue of 30 billion FCFA covering maturities of 182 days, 364 days and 3 years. The issue attracted the interest of 19 investors, with a coverage level of 127.90%, and a significant participation of non-resident investors in Niger (

97.21%).

Finally, Senegal closed the week on June 9 with a targeted auction of 50 billion FCFA. The issue recorded a coverage level of 121.73%, largely supported by the significant involvement of the State of Senegal's Treasury Securities Specialists (SVT)
