The Regulation establishing the Community Mining Code of the West African Economic Monetary Union (UEMOA) was adopted at the last Council of Ministers of the Union. The document was adopted during the 2nd ordinary session of the year, held on 16 June 2023 in Niamey, Niger, under the chairmanship of Mr. Adama COULIBALY, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, current President of the UEMOA Council of Ministers

“To provide the Union with a harmonised legal framework favourable to sustainable economic development and which ensures a balance between the need to provide incentives to attract investors and the need to protect the income base and resources of the Member States”. This is the objective of the Regulation establishing the Community Mining Code of the West African Economic Monetary Union (UEMOA), adopted by the UEMOA Council of Ministers

The Council of Ministers of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) has adopted the Directive on Consumer Protection in UEMOA which aims to establish a harmonized legal and regulatory framework for consumer protection in the Member States with a view to contributing to the strengthening of the common market; the Demat& Directive eacute; trialization of customs and foreign trade procedures and formalities within UEMOA; the Directive on the framework for the coordination and sharing of radio frequencies for terrestrial services from 87.5 MHz to 30 GHz in the border and maritime areas of the UEMOA member States; the Directive harmonizing the regulatory framework for the certification of terminal equipment and radio equipment in the UEMOA space
