Ivorian Nestor Coffi has just replaced Atou Seck from Senegal as World Bank Resident Representative for Benin. Its objective now is to ensure the effective and flexible implementation of the Partnership Framework between the World Bank and Benin in order to obtain results that impact the quality of life of populations

Nestor Coffi, the new Resident Representative of the World Bank for Benin officially took office on July 1, 2023. He replaces Atou Seck, whose mandate ended on 30 June 2023

Of Ivorian nationality, Nestor Coffi holds a Diploma of Accounting Expertise with a specialization in public finance management, obtained at the National Conservatory of Arts & Métiers (INTEC) in Paris, France. He joined the World Bank in 2002 as a Senior Financial Management Specialist. He subsequently held various positions of responsibility, including those of Resident Representative in Niger (2010 to 2015), Burundi (2016-2019), and Guinea (2019 to 2023)

“I am very excited to take office in Benin, to strengthen the already rich partnership between Benin and the World Bank Group. The country has embarked on the trajectory of economic and social transformation, with sustained reforms and investments. I will work to boost our current strategy so that it provides concrete and sustainable solutions to the needs of populations and communities,” said Nestor Coffi when he took office

.

In his new role in Benin, the Ivorian expert's priorities are to: maintain and strengthen relations and political dialogue with the government and key stakeholders; ensure the effective and flexible implementation of projects and programs agreed under the Bank's Partnership with Benin, in order to achieve results that impact the quality of life populations.

It should be remembered that Nestor Coffi has been the eleventh Resident Representative, since the opening of the World Bank Office in Benin in 1983.
