The new Director of Operations of the World Bank for Togo, Marie-Chantal Uwanyiligira of Rwanda, has begun a three-day visit to the country since Wednesday, July 19, according to a statement from the bank in Lomé. On the agenda of this stay, meetings with the country's authorities on the partnership and the priorities of his mandate.

The new World Bank Operations Director for Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea and Togo, Marie-Chantal Uwanyiligira, is visiting Lomé. An opportunity for her to present herself and discuss with the Togolese authorities on the Partnership between this Bretton Woods institution and Togo, as well as on the important priorities to be taken into account during her mandate, says a statement from the bank's office

Apart from the meeting with the authorities, the agenda of this visit includes the signing of funding agreements for the Transformative Social Assistance for Resilience (ASTRE) program and a field visit to appreciate the achievements of the West African Coastal Resilience Investment Project (WACA).

Marie-Chantal Uwanyiligira intends to focus her priorities on maintaining and strengthening the dialogue on development policies with the governments of the countries covered. She will also work to ensure the effective and flexible implementation of projects and programs financed by the Bank, while ensuring the coordination and smooth functioning of the institution's various teams.
