On Monday, September 4, the Togolese capital hosted the meeting of the Community Technical Regulatory Committee (ECOREG) for the validation of 14 draft technical regulations of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) covering four value chains, which lasted Hey three days.

Mango, manioc, textiles and clothing, and information and communication technologies are the four value chains concerned by the 14 validated projects. The meeting that ended yesterday, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, is the implementation of the Qualit& Competitiveness and Infrastructure Project eacute; from ECOWAS West Africa (WACOMP/WACQIP). These 14 projects, which are subject to validation, were submitted to the ECOWAS regional process for the harmonization of regulations (ECOTHRAM) on the one hand and to the public inquiry on the other

According to Lassané KABORE, Director of Industry of the ECOWAS Commission, this validation meeting is therefore timely to strengthen the existing stack of standards aimed at guaranteeing the quality of products from ECOWAS member countries.
