The ^52nd ordinary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee (CIP) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) opened on Monday, September 4. The work is scheduled to last ten days.

Elected officials will debate three main topics for ten days. According to Richard Alossohoun, Vice-President of CIP-Uemoa, representing the President of the institution at the opening of work in Cotonou, these are “the implementation of Community competition rules; electronic commerce: opportunities and challenges; and the implementation of the African continental free trade area: challenges and opportunities

The latter hopes that the new opportunities offered by e-commerce, the African Continental Free Trade Area and the implementation of EU competition rules will create good prospects for improving the economies of member countries.
