Bloomberg reported on Monday, September 4, that Germany plans to mobilize 450 million euros ($486 million) in new climate finance focused on renewable energy for several African countries.

In particular, German funds should be used to finance renewable energy projects in several countries on the continent. Barbel Kofler, Secretary of State attached to the German Minister for Economic Cooperation, said that Berlin will finance the construction of a fertilizer plant powered by green hydrogen in Kenya to the tune of 60 million euros, and will convert 60 million euros of Kenyan debt into investment in renewable energy and environmentally friendly agriculture
