At the opening of the first edition of the Heritage and Investment Forum (Fpi) on Thursday, October 26 in Dakar, the Director General of the Regional Stock Exchange (Brvm) indicated that the stock exchange recorded significant and historic developments during this year 2023.

The stock market showed a certain resilience at the height of the Covid-19 crisis, an increase while most African stock markets were down according to the managing director of the BRVM. According to the latter, on September 12, 2023, the market capitalization of the Brvm crossed the 8 trillion CFA francs mark, a doubling over the last 10 years. The Director General of the stock exchange common to the Member States of UEMOA indicated that “global developments have brought to light new challenges, the two main of which are those of sustainability and technology”.
According to him, the BRVM of the future will look like an increasingly green stock exchange; a comprehensive exchange offering a complete range of products and services: derivatives, venture markets, and commodities markets
