A report by the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) mentions that Senegal's foreign trade was marked by a trade deficit of 280.7 billion, a reduction of 70.5 billion compared to August.

The ANSD indicates in its report that import prices fell by 3.3% in August 2023, compared to the previous month. Depending on the source, this decrease is explained by the depreciation of the prices of “mineral products”, which contributed -3.0 percentage points, “vegetable products” (-0.6), “articles of stone, cement and glass” (-0.2) and “live animals and animal products” (-0.1). Exports of goods were valued at 214.0 billion in September 2023 compared to 246.5 billion the previous month, a decrease of 13.2% (-32.5 billion). This situation mainly reflects a contraction in sales of petroleum products (-14.8 billion), fishery products (-8.7 billion), hydraulic cement (-2.5 billion) and titanium (-1.9 billion)
