A fake business school called the European School of Business and International Affairs (ESBIA) has swindled dozens of Beninese students.

European school of business and international affairs (ESBIA) charged African students, most of them from Benin, several thousand euros to come and take courses in France. Unfortunately, students discover that they have been deceived once outside of their country. Students only receive a few hours of English or accounting lessons after paying around €5 to 6,000 per year, while the school offers about twenty different courses according to its website. Three suspects, two of whom are from Benin and one from France, were arrested on 20 November 2023. They were indicted on 24 November last year for acts of “assisted stay in an organized group, aggravated fraud and tax evasion”, and face up to ten years
