The German Agency for International Development Cooperation (Giz) Côte d'Ivoire initiated a training workshop this week in order to strengthen the capacities of participants to investigate economic and financial crimes committed at the level of public procurement.

The training focused on the theme “fraud and corruption in public procurement”. It aims to strengthen the capacities of participants, such as experts from the Economic and Financial Criminal Division, agents of the High Authority for Good Governance, and the National Unit for the Processing of Financial Information (Centif), to investigate economic and financial crimes committed at the level of public procurement. They are equipped to detect economic and financial crimes involving legal persons and their directors. It is in fact a project that covers the period 2020-2024 and is part of the good governance project for increasing investment and employment in Côte d'Ivoire. It will also support the Ivorian government's efforts to improve the investment and business climate by strengthening governance in public procurement and the fight against crime
