Fatou Cissé, research professor at the Consortium for Economic and Social Research, indicated that “the second edition of the symposium is an activity that falls within the framework of the action plan of the Forum for the Empowerment of Women in West Africa, which is a recently created initiative aimed at strengthening synergies between different actors who work on women's empowerment issues, be they researchers, public and private decision-makers, or technical and financial partners.” The latter believes that it is necessary to raise awareness among young girls so that they are more involved in scientific fields that allow them to “take advantage of job opportunities in green sectors such as construction or renewable energies”.
