Le jeudi 14 décembre 2023 l' Assemblée nationale de Madagascar a adopté le projet de Loi No. 022/2023, dated October 04, 2023, making significant changes to the Law No. 2018-043 of 13 February 2019 on the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing

L'adoption de la loi vise à répondre aux principales recommandations du Groupe d' Action Financière (GAFI), énoncées dans le cadre de la lutte mondiale contre le blanchiment de money and the financing of the terrorism. It is a redefinition of offenses, the introduction of new incriminations, and the strengthening of governmental responsibility in this crucial fight. The aim is to strictly comply with the international FATF standards in order to avoid the inclusion of Madagascar on the “grey list” and to respect international commitments in the fight against financial crime
