In order to support development projects in West Africa, Canada's development finance institution, Findev Canada announced the disbursement of 20 million euros (21.8 million dollars).

The loan granted by Findev Canada is the very first agreement signed between the Canadian financial institution and the West African Development Bank. The aim will be to increase the financing of agri-food companies and the energy sector in West Africa. The money will be sent via the West African Development Bank (BOAD), with which the lender has signed an agreement. The beneficiaries will finance private SMEs located in the least developed countries of the Union with this money
