2024 started badly for the Paris Stock Exchange, with investors bordering on indigestion on Tuesday, January 2. Around 15:00 p.m., the CAC 40 lost 0.7% to 7,490.40 points against +0.89% at the highest of the session. Index futures lost 0.6% to 1.15% on Wall Street. The flagship index of New York closed on Friday, for the final session of 2023, less than 50 points from its absolute peak. As things stand, it seems unlikely that a trend reversal would allow the S&P 500 to reach new highs
.noted that the first session of 2023 resulted in an increase of close to 2% for the CAC 40, which finally gained 16.5% last year.
