Suite à la saisie en janvier 2024 de plus 1500 sacs de cacao estimés à 100 tons, the agricultural trade union center educated the populations and producers of Gbangompleu, a village bordering Guinea Conakry, in the town by Sipilou, on the harmful effects of cocoa trafficking to neighboring countries. The meeting took place on February 2.

The seized cocoa bags were displayed in a dry port in Gniglé, a village 800 meters from the border with Guinea. In fact, during the meetings, the president of the agricultural trade union, Seydou Kiebré, explained to the participants the harm that cocoa trafficking causes to the Ivorian economy. According to him, it is the profit from the sale of cocoa in Côte d'Ivoire that allows the State to build infrastructures such as schools, roads, and hydraulic pumps.

For their part, villagers advocate for the construction of classrooms, road maintenance, and access to clean water.
