The 30th edition of the African Mining Indaba took place from 5 to 8 February 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa. During the activities, Sofibank, one of the main banking institutions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, renews its support for the African mining sector

At the 2024 edition of African Mining Indaba, Sofibank recalled the strategic importance of the mining industry for the economy of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which today represents nearly 50% of the country's GDP. She indicates that in a context of strong growth in demand for mining products, the sector constitutes a considerable potential development lever for African countries, including the DRC. According to the managing director, Henry Wazne, representing Sofibank, “the African banking sector must mobilize to provide the necessary financing, facilitate foreign investments and promote the attractiveness of the continent. Events such as the African Mining Indaba are crucial platforms for dialogue and collaboration between the various stakeholders in the mining sector.”
