On the occasion of a two-day workshop, the insurance department at the Ministry of Finance and Budget announces actions to popularize insurance in Senegal. The workshop opened on Wednesday in Dakar.

Insurance Director, Mamadou Dème said that Senegal has undertaken an inclusive insurance policy to improve the insurance penetration rate, which is “very low”.

He reassures that efforts should be made to popularize insurance. “There was a year when there were 1 million people insured”, recalled Mr. Dème. According to him, the digitalization of services now applies to the insurance sector, which is likely to popularize insurance and make it inclusive
