.West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures rose 1 cent to $78.04 per barrel. Brent oil futures fell by 11 cents, or 0.1%, to $82.75 per barrel at 00:131 GMT. Both contracts soared by more than 1% on Thursday, as a sharper than expected drop in retail sales in the United States raised hopes that the Federal Reserve will soon start cutting interest rates in the coming months, which could be positive for oil demand
