The two officials of the Weslayan Credit Savings Cooperation are being sued for “breach of trust, false certificates and money laundering”. They are accused of having granted several million fictitious credits on the basis of false documents. The representative of COWEC-Bénin said that the defendants succeeded in assembling files with false documents from false officials who work in six (6) ministries and at the post office. The two agency heads pleaded not guilty. They will appear before the judge again on April 02, 2024
