Morocco now has an investment grade rating on the Standard & Poor's (S&P) scale. The American rating agency maintained Morocco's sovereign debt rating at BB+/B, while revising the associated outlook from “stable” to “positive.”

In its assessment report, S&P Global Ratings indicates that Morocco has shown resilience in the face of multiple shocks over the past five years while maintaining access to domestic and external financing. “The positive outlook reflects our expectations that Morocco will build on its recent track record of implementing socio-economic and fiscal reforms, thus paving the way for inclusive growth and a reduction in budget deficits,” the agency also highlights

S&P Global Ratings believes that the gradual transformation of the structure of the economy will continue and strengthen growth prospects, economic stability, and public finances. He added that the Moroccan economy will also benefit from the increase in the country's export capacity and from the development of major investment projects as part of the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 and the World Cup of Football in 2030
